Hi, I'm Randy!
I grew up thinking I’d become a surgeon, but at 16, I was lured into radio. For a time, I considered broadcasting—until I looked around and realized most of my colleagues were struggling to make ends meet. So I returned to the plan: medical school at UAB, followed by surgical residency at the Medical College of Georgia.

My first job came by chance—an offer from a former mentor who had moved to Florida. From there, I eventually returned to Alabama, practicing in a range of settings, from large, multi-specialty groups to solo surgical practices. Later in my career, I shifted into wound care and hyperbaric medicine, earned new board certifications, and helped lead a wound care center.

I retired—unexpectedly and without a plan—after becoming frustrated with bureaucracy. But retirement didn’t stick. MD Coaches founder Rhonda Crowe reached out about a new idea: a podcast to amplify the voices of physicians. I dusted off my early radio chops and said yes. The podcast Rx for Success has now surpassed 200 episodes and even won a Columbus Podcast Award.

Today, I’m proud to coach physicians and share their stories. When I’m not recording or coaching, I enjoy life with my wife and exploring the outdoors through photography.
